Until 1918 Estonia was a duchy in personal union with at various times: Denmark, Sweden, Russia, and Prussia. Southern Estonia was part of the Duchy of Livonia which had a similar history.

Very well written. The author has a way with words. I was very curious to see how the country was moving from a command economy to a demand economy, and I’d like to have seen more examples of that.

It was thoroughly enjoyable.
